STRUCTURAL TENSION

Structures are tension-resolution systems. Robert Fritz, in his book The Path of Least Resistance, describes structural tension as being formed by two major components.

1. A vision of the result you want to create.
2. A clear view of the reality you have now.

VISION-----------------------
(The result you want to create)

STRUCTURAL TENSION ----------------- Seeks Resolution

CURRENT REALITY-----
(What you now have)

Vision - Conceive of this result you want to create.  Start with nothing.  Free yourself from the past and from any circumstances.  There are no limits.  Form the vision in pictures.  It must be clear enough that you would recognize the result if you had it.

Current Reality - An accurate description of reality right now.  Be objective.  Start as if you know nothing.  Observe and notice reality.

Using Structural Tension - Notice the discrepancy between what you have and what you want.  The discrepancy is not bad, rather it contains the energy that increases the tendency for you to create the result you want.
